This piece can be a free-standing or a hung willow pod, depending on the available space. It is shaped like a pear and structurally sound with a steel frame and then fully woven in local sources, sustainable willow. It can be a place for people to retreat to, a little cocoon-like space to read, rest, reflect, meditate, paint, doze.
A Graduate of 'Design and Craft' at Brighton University. Her pod-making stems from a desire to have a space in which my introverted side feels nurtured. She is drawn to the use of willow due to it's flexibility, richness of colour, and abundant qualities. Weaving creates solitude and space, allowing thoughts to wander and hands, and body, to dance.
