Cedar and Black Resin Coffee Table

A beautiful burnt cedar and black resin coffee table with antiqued brass legs. Using the ancient Japanese timber preservation method of shou sugi ban, this cedar cookie has been burnt, which basically preserves it and give it a glorious colour. This has then been further enhanced with oils to increase it’s protection and enrich the colour further. The Cedar cookie has then been set in black resin, which shows the cedar off to its fullest. The top has then been sanded and polished so that you can feel the wood and you can feel the resin , but you cannot feel the join between the two. Due to the burning process there is a slight ripple effect to the wood. It has then been set on antiqued brass legs, which complement the colours of the cedar top.
