While out horse riding with a friend, Amanda took special notice of the beautiful black berries that adorn the Elderflower bush; the inspiration for the Sambuco design was born as part of the Pratamagno collection. This design is wonderfully reminiscent of old botanical drawings with finely sketched detail, the delicate and intricate design works well in both modern and traditional rooms and brings the outdoors in, in the most subtle way.

Suffering from dyslexia, Amanda’s fascination with art and form developed from a young age to the point where she was sent to study art in Florence at just 16. Having met her husband, raised five children and managed a household, simply put, Amanda’s life got in the way of her artistic endeavors. Although she continued to draw and paint throughout her busy years as a wife and mother, it wasn’t until the Spring of 2017 that Amanda fulfilled a lifelong dream and launched Ailanto.
