Robyn Adjustable Shelves

Reclaimed white-washed scaffolding boards and galvanised steel pipe shelving/bookcase - its salvaged vintage industrial design works perfectly in a sophisticated, casual living space. The method of construction for these units is such that there is a slight rock to the shelves because the hole in the wood has a slightly larger diameter than the pipe diameter. Tt's only a few millimetres back and forth and will never cause anything placed on the shelves to fall off, and of course is only ever an issue if the shelves are weighted unevenly. The scaffolding boards pictured in this example were simply brushed down and white washed with a white oil so they retained a gritty raw look but light and more feminine looking, but anything you choose to use can be distressed or polished up to create any required finish. The piping shown here is 27mm galvanised pipe, but it can be powder coated to create any colour/finish, scaffolding boards could be substituted for reclaimed floor boards, chunky reclaimed timber of any type, toughened glass, sheet metal, wire grills, railway sleepers.
