A "Kiri Tansu," or a chest of drawers made of paulownia wood, is known as the typical Japanese high-quality furniture. It was best suited as the chest of drawer to protect Kimono clothes in the humid climate of Japan. Such Kiri Tansu now is attracting attention in the overseas markets. Only Japan can manufacture Kiri Tansu to which so much delicate craftsmanship is applied. Not only the functionality but also the Japanesque design adds up to the re-evaluation.
Founded in 1855, we have continued to make true furniture for our customers, which they can leave to following generations. We produce by using traditional Japanese joinery techniques and with our factory in Kyoto, we have also mastered the Kyo lacquer technique. We have polished our techniques with the sole idea of "wanting to make real furniture that can be used for 100 or 200 years.
