The Pratamagno Collection, Pini Design comes from the famous ancient Umbrella Pine trees of Rome. Originally planted by the Roman Emperors to shade their marching soldiers down the ancient Appia Way, they form an integral part of the Roman scenery. The Pini and their very definite shape captured Amanda’s imagination as they stand against the evening sky at dusk, like sentinels.

Suffering from dyslexia, Amanda’s fascination with art and form developed from a young age to the point where she was sent to study art in Florence at just 16. Having met her husband, raised five children and managed a household, simply put, Amanda’s life got in the way of her artistic endeavors. Although she continued to draw and paint throughout her busy years as a wife and mother, it wasn’t until the Spring of 2017 that Amanda fulfilled a lifelong dream and launched Ailanto.
