This armchair is a fusion of Jorge Zalszupin's 1959 "Danish" Armchair with the famous "Red and Blue" Armchair by the Dutchman Gerrit Rietveld of 1917. We sought to merge the concept of independent and straight parts present in the Rietveld neoplastic style armchair with the wooden elements of the Zalzupin armchair. This Armchair is part of the Viralata series that is composed of pieces that are the result of "crossings" between furniture and objects. In line with the concept of "cultural anthropophagy", launched by Oswald de Andrade in 1928 through his Manifesto Antropófago - the idea of devouring the colonising culture and transforming it into a Brazilian and revolutionary culture. Here Lattoog presents strong references to Brazilian roots and culture: Miscegenation, syncretism and "viralatism".The exploration of this concept has been one of the tonics of Lattoog's discourse in designing. A work that was defined by journalist Suzete Aché as "Antropofagia Carioca".
