Boundary is a vertical folding structure divided into three sections each moving 180 degrees. The frame is made from maple verticals and walnut horizontals. The frames are held together without glue using traditional mortice and tenon joinery with the tusk tenon’s held in place using wedges made of cherrywood.
Boundary can take on different configurations and combinations, depending on how and where it is placed in the room, and its desired function. It can be used as a space divider, hanging frame, floordrobe, folding clothes ladder, rack, den, ornament or partition. It introduces the playful idea of performance and the ability of an object, in itself not solid, being able to change the shape and feel of a room.
