The seatings from the two benches are made from a single sawn plank of Elm around 70mm thick, ripping into 2 thin planks. The design challenge was about how to give the benches enough strength with this thin timber. As a result the two benches are visually slim but strong enough to be used as seating/low table – a versatile piece of furniture – you can use them in everyday life and enjoy the patina they will gain with time.
