Basalt Table Series A collection of 3 hexagonal brass tables, designed for individual use, or interlocking in a group. The Basalt geometric tables create a sense of natural rhythm which suggests its source of inspiration, the Giant's Causeway. All hexagonal prisms in shape, the three variations included in the 'Basalt' design vary in height, with the mid-height piece featuring cutaway sides. Whilst making the table suitable for storage, this feature adds to the play of light and sense of space created by the mirrored brass. Hand built from reflective solid brass sheets. Martin Huxford Studio's Basalt tables provide a weightiness in their monumental allusion retained from their brutalist influence, whilst harmonizing any rawness, offering an addition to an interior which is not afraid to be bold and beautiful. Designer: Martin Huxford 2014 Materials: Hand built polished Brass Small d.60 x h.30cm (24"x12") Medium d.60 x h.45cm (24"x18") Large d.60 x h.60cm (24"x24").
