At the end of the 19th century the Mangani family is already a family of sculptors, and since then the art of father to son has been handed down. Since the early 1900s, Cesarino Mangani has been working in her own atelier in Florence with her five children, taking care of commissioning works commissioned mainly by English, French and Americans, the owners of the noble villas nearby.
Following the crisis of 1929 which, as is well known, overwhelmed every sector of economic and financial life not only of our country, the atelier was closed. Only one of the five children will continue the family art ever since: Alfiero Mangani . After working as a ceramist and sculptor in the important Florentine factory "Zaccagnini" until 1955-56, he opened a personal restoration workshop in Florence, in the popular district of San Frediano, where he worked on the restoration of ceramics and porcelain, thanks to the valuable help of the young son Ivan.
